Care

In Germany there are 2 stages of education for geriatric care. The training to become caregiver assistant takes 1 year and is done exclusively at school, except for the internships. This year, you earn no money. The 3-year training to  a graduated  caregiver is, like most apprenticeships in Germany, a dual training. That is, it takes place in a nursing home and at school. The  nursing home pays a training wage.

In the Czech Republic interested students will be trained as social carers. The training lasts 4 years and ends with graduation. Social nurses work not only in nursing homes but also in kindergartens, hospitals or facilities for the disabled.
